This program is a partnership with Bangarra Dance Theatre, Australia's leading Indigenous performing arts organisation. Students will develop their dance and performance skills and interact with other Indigenous students from across the state.

This is a highly motivational program that will build students' skills, knowledge and cultural awareness. The activity is recommended for students who are at risk of disengaging at school or are disadvantaged in some way. School principals are encouraged to financially support students through their school or wider community avenues.

Students with outstanding potential may be selected from these workshops to form the NSW Public Schools Aboriginal Dance Company.

 Disability Dance

During these workshops, students and teachers will have the opportunity to work with other schools and further develop their knowledge and understanding of composition and dance technique. Teachers will be given specific professional development opportunities that they can take back to the classroom with them and further this experience with their students.

Students will look at newforms of physical expression, getting in tune with their musicality and perfecting their dance moves.

Workshops will be held across the State and are open to individual students as well as student groups from schools, accompanied by teachers. Applications for these workshops will open shortly. Stay tuned for further information later in the Term.
