WEEKLY INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC ENSEMBLES 
WEEKLY VOCAL ENSEMBLES

Ensembles provide an extension from school based ensembles and an opportunity for students to perform significant and demanding music alongside other gifted and talented students. The ensembles regularly tour internationally and inter-state. Auditions are held annually in term three for membership the following year.

State wind

STATE WIND BANDS

Provides opportunities for talented music students in public schools across New South Wales to perform in a state ensemble and work with professional conductors on repertoire which challenges students’ musical skills, culminating in performances at the Sydney Opera House.

STATE CHOIR

Provides opportunities for talented government school students to rehearse and perform challenging choral repertoire in a State ensemble under the direction of  professional choral conductors. The choir performs at Australia's most prestigious performance venue, the Sydney Opera House. Open to government school students in Years 8 to 12 from across NSW. The choir enhances and extends students’ experiences and commitments within their own school community.

marchingMILLENNIUM MARCHING BAND

Formed in 1999 to train young musicians in preparation for their performance in the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games opening ceremony the Millennium Marching Band is one of Australia’s premier and dynamic ensembles. It provides opportunities for instrumentalists, dancers, rhythmic gymnasts of all standards. Interested students may apply for membership during the year. Contact: jennifer.gregory2@det.nsw.edu.au

End of Year Concert

Each year the NSW Public Schools Music Ensembles join together to perform in an end of year concert. The concert for 2014 is planned for 9 November. More information will appear here closer to the time.
