Vocal Ensembles

  • The vocal ensembles are high quality and high profile groups which provide a wide range of varied performance opportunities for talented school-aged vocalists.

  • In 2014, the ensembles will include NSW Public Schools Singers (School Yrs 8 to 12) and the NSW Public Schools Junior Singers (School Yrs 4 to 8).

  • Involvement in all vocal ensembles requires commitment to weekly rehearsals, a number of performances and a possible tour during the year.

NSW Public Schools Senior Singers

The NSW Public Schools Senior Singers is one of the premier student SATB vocal ensembles in Australia. The ensemble proudly celebrates a long history of high achievement and regularly performs at prestigious venues including the Sydney Opera House and The Sydney Town Hall.

NSW Public Schools Junior Singers

The NSW Public Schools Junior Singers is a treble voiced choir (SSAA) and is regularly involved in performances at major events throughout the year including the ANZAC Day concerts, Opera House and Town Hall concerts, Schools Spectacular, ensembles concerts and recordings for television and radio.

Participation costs $300 per student.

How do I get involved?

Applications have now closed for the 2014 Vocal Ensembles.

Rehearsals and performances

The Vocal Ensembles rehearse weekly to practice and perfect their repertoire. Rehearsals are held on Tuesday afternoons at Lewisham Public School, corner of The Boulevarde and Toothill St, Lewisham.

The NSW Public Schools Junior Singers rehearse Tuesday afternoons from 4.30pm – 6.30pm.

The NSW Public Schools Singers rehearse Tuesday afternoons from 4.30pm – 7.00pm.

Rehearsals are led by a team of talented and enthusiastic conductors and tutors, teachers, and industry professionals.

A range of performances are scheduled throughout the year at events such as the . Some ensembles may also undertake a tour.
